Dont dance so fast

Don't Dance So Fast

Have you ever watched kids On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun of the fading night?
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.

The music won't last.
Do you run through each day On the fly?
When you ask How are you? Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done Do you lie in your bed With the next hundred chores Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Ever told your child, We'll do it tomorrow? And in your haste, Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch, Let a good friendship die Cause you never had time To call and say hi
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day, It is like an unopened gift.... Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over

The end of another day....

Have a blessed night.

Hello blog,

Good news first, I have a new email friend that I enjoy "talking" to very much. He is a grand pa and understands my need to brag on my own g/kids once in a while, lol! He also has a wonderful sence of humor which I just love in a person, especially a man. It makes them so attractive. I feel very blessed to have "met" my new pen pal!
This is my 10 yr old g/daughter. She has the (dubious) honor of having won the Title for "The Most Tackiest Kid In School" Back when I went to school we didnt have "fun" days like that, we had "reading, writing and arithmatic" and a mean old teacher with a hard wooden paddle. She didnt mind using it either!
Also my youngest g/son lost a front tooth. He is very proud of it as you can see from his pic! (Wait until he gets older and loses them all, wont be funny then, lol!)
And Friday I am having my cat Amber fixedand he is going to hate me!

Today was dark, cold, and grey with rain pouring down all morning. In one way I enjoyed sitting here watching it and in another way it made me even more lonely. Made me wish the house was nice and warm with me cooking a big dinner and someone to share it with while we laughed, talked and joked. Made me wish for the old days when my husband and I would sit on the sofa, me snuggled up to him with his arm around me, watching tv and listening to the rain. It would be wonderful to live like that again instead of spending what time I do have left just sitting here waiting to die.

We are Rose Petals....

A new minister was walking with an older,
more seasoned minister in the garden one day.

Feeling a bit insecure about what God had for him to do,
he was asking the older preacher for some advice.
The older preacher walked up to a rosebush and handed the young preacher a rosebud and told him to open it
without tearing off any petals.

The young preacher looked in disbelief at the older preacher
and was trying to figure out what a rosebud could possibly have to do with his wanting to know the will of God for his life and ministry.

But because of his great respect for the older preacher,
he proceeded to try to unfold the rose,
while keeping every petal intact..
It wasn't long before he realized how impossible this was to do.

Noticing the younger preacher's inability to unfold the rosebud without tearing it, the older preacher began to recite the following poem...

It is only a tiny rosebud,
A flower of God's design;
But I cannot unfold the petals
With these clumsy hands of mine.

The secret of unfolding flowers
Is not known to such as I..
GOD opens this flower so easily,
But in my hands they die.

If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
This flower of God's design,
Then how can I have the wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?

So I'll trust in God for leading
Each moment of my day.
I will look to God for guidance
In each step of the way.

The path that lies before me,
Only my Lord knows.
I'll trust God to unfold the moments,
Just as He unfolds the rose.

Please share this poem with a friend if you enjoyed being reminded to let go and let God unfold your life

Daughter's front yard Dec 2009

I am a bit late in posting this. My daughter's van caught fire from faulty wiring this past Dec and caught the tree it was parked under on fire also. The temps dropped so low the water the firemen sprayed the tree with froze as it dripped from the tree top down through the branches. Most ppl think of Florida as being tropical, always sunny and warm with ppl running around in bathing suits sipping colados. That isnt true, the weather in this part of Florida (North Florida)  is extremely cold in the winter and smothering, smoldering, stiffling hot in the summer. We rarely have  Spring or Fall, just go from blistering hot to freezing cold.

A Great Day in the making?

I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the day ends. I have responsibilities to fulfill today. I am important. My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.

Today I can complain because the weather is rainy or …

I can be thankful that the grass is getting watered for free.

Today I can grumble about my health or…

I can rejoice that I am alive.

Today I can mourn my lack of friends or…

I can excitedly embark upon a quest to discover new relationships.

Today I can whine because I have to go to work or…

I can shout for joy because I have a job to do.

Today I can murmur dejectedly because I have to do housework or…

I can feel honored because Life has provided shelter for my mind, body and soul.

Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped. And here I am, the sculptor who gets to do the shaping.

What today will be like is up to me. I get to choose what kind of day I will have! Why not make it a GREAT day???

Filters

In ancient Greece (469 - 399 BC), Socrates was well known for
his wisdom.

One day the great philosopher came upon an acquaintance who
said excitedly, "Socrates, do you know what I just heard about
one of your students?

"Wait a moment," Socrates replied. "Before telling me anything
I would like you to pass a little test. It's called the Triple
Filter Test."

"Triple filter?"

"That's right," Socrates continued. "Before you talk to me
about my student, it might be a good idea to take a moment and
filter what you're going to say. The first filter is Truth.
Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell
me is true?"

"No," the man said, "actually I just heard about it and ..."

"All right," said Socrates. "So you don't really know if it's
true or not. Now let's try the second filter, the filter of
Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my student
something good?"

"Well, no, on the contrary..."

"So," Socrates continued, "you want to tell me something bad
about him, but you're not certain it's true. You may still pass
the test though, because there's one filter left: the filter
of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about my student
going to be useful to me?"

"No, I suppose it isn't really."

"Well," concluded Socrates, "if what you want to tell me is
neither true nor good nor even useful, why tell it to me at
all?"

This is the reason Socrates was a great philosopher and held
in such high esteem.

Dog Rescued From Floating Ice Berg

by this man who worked on a ship and the crew discovered the dog floating 75 miles out in the sea. An attempt was made to find the dog's owner but 6 different people came forth to claim him, they were only seeking publicity. So the man who actually got him off the ice berg adopted him. I couldnt c/p the story as it is copyrighted material. I thank the Lord for people like this man and all those on the ship's crew!

Sunday Morning coming down....

What an absolutely beautiful day! Lots of sunshine and just right temp. Makes up for the dreariness and coldness of yesreday!
A lot of you are sleeping in, this is your last day to do so for your job is calling you early in the morning. Back to the weekly grind of making a living so you snuggle farther down under the covers and begin to snore softly.
And a lot of you are on your way to church, then afterwards to a Family get together or a nice lunch out with friends. Or maybe go home to the comfort and warmth of your own Special Place.
Whatever your plans are, I am waving and sending a bright and peaceful Sunday to each of you! Have a wonderful day!
